The security issue is caused due to the hfkernel application executing "killall" in an insecure manner when processing the "-k" command line argument, which can be exploited to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. The security issue is reported in version 0.8. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict local access to trusted users only.
