The vulnerability is caused due to a NULL-pointer dereference error in the IP tunnel implementation. This can be exploited to cause a crash or to potentially execute arbitrary code with escalated privileges via a specially crafted SIOCGTUNPARAM IOCTL request. The vulnerability is reported in Solaris 10 and OpenSolaris for both the SPARC and x86 platforms. SOLUTION: Apply patches. -- SPARC Platform -- Solaris 10: Apply patch 138888-01 or later.
