This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. 2) The application does not properly restrict access to secret messages, which can be exploited to bypass certain security restrictions and view other users' messages. 3) Input passed to the "dir" parameter in include/write.php is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources via absolute paths and URL-encoded NULL bytes. 4) Input submitted to the application is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in the context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed. 5) Input passed to the "dir" in include/print_category.php (when "setup[use_category]" is set to a non-NULL value) is not properly verified before being used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local and remote resources. Successful exploitation of vulnerabilities #1, #3, and #5 requires that "register_globals" is enabled. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 4 pl8. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified and proper access restrictions are implemented.
