The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the "proxyReadClientSocket()" function in proxy/libvirt_proxy.c. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted proxy request. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code with root privileges. The vulnerability is reported in version 0.5.1. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 0.6.0.
