The security issue is caused due to the Enomaly ECP daemon (enomalism2d) including an update mechanism that insecurely downloads and executes python modules from the vendor's web server. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on a vulnerable system e.g. via a MitM (Man-in-the-Middle) or DNS spoofing attack. SOLUTION: Reportedly fixed in version 2.2.2. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Sam Johnston ORIGINAL ADVISORY: Enomaly: http://groups.google.com/group/enomalism/browse_thread/thread/2c8eae21a8264b30 Sam Johnston: http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/bugtraq/2009-02/0122.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
