Forte Agent Address Book Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

DESCRIPTION:
Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in Forte Agent, which can
be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing
imported address book xml files. This can be exploited to cause a
stack-based buffer overflow when a user is tricked into importing an
address book xml file containing a specially crafted email address
with an overly long domain part.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.2.0.1118 and 5.0.0.1171.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not import untrusted address book files.
