Gigaset SE461 WiMAX Router Denial of Service

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in the Gigaset SE461 WiMAX router,
which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error, which can be
exploited to stop the device from responding by e.g. sending certain
HTTP requests to port 53.

NOTE: Reportedly, exploitation is also possible by tricking a victim
into visiting a malicious HTML page containing specially crafted
"img", "link", or "base" tags.

The vulnerability is reported in firmware version 1.5-BL024.9.6401.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Use a firewall to restrict access to the affected port.
