Yamaha RT Series Routers MD5 Collision Security Issue

DESCRIPTION:
Yamaha has acknowledged a security issue in various RT Series
routers, which can be exploited by malicious people to potentially
conduct spoofing attacks.

The security issue is caused due to weak collision resistance in the
implemented MD5 algorithm and can be exploited to potentially spoof
valid users during e.g. authentication.

SOLUTION:
Avoid using the MD5 algorithm to validate input from untrusted
sources.
