My Simple Forum Multiple Vulnerabilities

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in My Simple Forum, which
can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive
information or conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

1) Input passed to the "action" parameter in index.php and
theme/default/index.template.php is not properly verified before
being used to include files. This can be exploited to include
arbitrary files from local resources via directory traversal attacks
and URL-encoded NULL bytes.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities requires that
"magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled.

NOTE: The file inclusion vulnerability in
theme/default/index.template.php is confirmed on the windows
platform.

2) Input passed to the "Name" parameter in
theme/default/index.template.php is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute
arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in the
context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 7.1. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
verified.
