EMC RepliStor Message Parsing Integer Overflow

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in EMC RepliStor, which can be
exploited by malicious people to potentially compromise a vulnerable
system.

The vulnerability in caused due to an integer overflow error when
processing messages sent to the "ctrlservice.exe" and "rep_srv.exe"
services. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow
via a specially crafted message.

Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is reported in versions 6.2 SP4 and 6.3 SP1. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 6.2 SP5 or 6.3 SP2.
