Klein Keane has discovered some vulnerabilities in NanoCMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information or conduct cross-site request forgery attacks. 1) The application stores e.g. password hashes in the "pagesdata.txt" file under the "data" directory. This can be exploited to disclose sensitive information by downloading the files directly. 2) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change the administrator's password when a logged in administrator views a malicious web page. The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 0.4 stable. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict access to the "pagesdata.txt" files (e.g. via a .htaccess file). Do not browse untrusted sites while being logged on to the application.
