acpid Socket Exhaustion Denial of Service Vulnerability

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in acpid, which can be exploited by
malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to the application improperly closing
UNIX sockets. This can be exploited to trigger the execution of an
infinite loop and hang the acpid daemon by exhausting the number of
available UNIX sockets.

SOLUTION:
Restrict local access to trusted users only.
