The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing the doctype declaration within ".NZB" files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when a specially crafted ".NZB" file containing an overly large string as DTD URI is opened. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is reported in version GrabIt 1.7.2 beta 3. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Fixed in version 1.7.2 beta 4.
