openWYSIWYG Directory Traversal and File Upload Vulnerabilities

DESCRIPTION:
Juri Gianni has discovered two vulnerabilities in openWYSIWYG, which
can be exploited by malicious people to disclose potentially
sensitive information or bypass certain security restrictions.

1) Input passed via the "dir" parameter to
addons/imagelibrary/select_image.php is not properly verified before
being used to display directory structures. This can be exploited to
disclose the directory structure and list image files within
arbitrary folders on an affected system via directory traversal
attacks.

2) Access to addons/imagelibrary/insert_image.php is not properly
restricted, which can be exploited to upload image files to an
affected system by accessing the file directly.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.4.7. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the "imagelibrary" directory (e.g. via an
".htaccess" file).
