Drupal Email Verification Module Script Insertion and Security Bypass

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in the Email Verification
module for Drupal, which can be exploited by malicious people to
conduct script insertion attacks and by malicious users to bypass
certain security restrictions.

1) Input passed via the user name and email address is not properly
sanitised before being saved. This can be exploited to insert
arbitrary HTML and script code, which is executed in a user's browser
session when viewing the list of unconfirmed email addresses.

2) Access to the list of unconfirmed email addresses is improperly
restricted only by checking the "access content" permission. This can
be exploited to obtain the list of unconfirmed email addresses without
having administrator credentials.

NOTE: This vulnerability only affects Drupal 5.x installations.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 5.x-2.1 and
6.x-1.2.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 5.x-2.1 or 6.x-1.2.
