DESCRIPTION:
MrDoug has discovered a security issue in Steam, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The security issue is caused due to the application setting insecure
default permissions on the "Steam" installation directory. This can
be exploited to gain escalated privileges by e.g. replacing the
Steam.exe binary.

The security issue is confirmed in Steam package version 54 / 894.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Remove unprivileged access from the permissions set on the "Steam"
directory.
