DESCRIPTION:
Pablo Rincón Crespo has reported a vulnerability in Snort, which can
be exploited by malicious people to manipulate certain data.

The vulnerability is caused due an error in the unified output plugin
when writing network data from packets reassembled by the Stream5
preprocessor. This can be exploited to corrupt unified log files and
potentially insert fake alerts via specially crafted TCP packets.

The vulnerability is reported in 2.8.x versions prior to 2.8.5.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 2.8.5.
