NTP Mode 7 Request Denial of Service

DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in NTP, which can be exploited by
malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the processing of mode
7 requests in ntpd. This can be exploited to cause an NTP packet reply
loop by sending a specially crafted packet with a spoofed source IP
address to an affected NTP server.

The vulnerability is reported in versions prior to 4.2.4p8.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.2.4p8.
