MyBB Avatar Change File Enumeration Security Issue

DESCRIPTION:
Stefano Angaran has discovered a security issue in MyBB, which can be
exploited by malicious users to enumerate files on an affected
system.

Input passed to the "avatar" parameter when changing a user's avatar
is not properly sanitised before being used to check for the
existence of files. Since the avatar change is only successful if the
existence of a file could be confirmed, this can be exploited to
enumerate existing files via directory traversal attacks.

The security issue is confirmed in version 1.4.10. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Fixed in the SVN repository.
