---------------------------------------------------------------------- Secunia integrated with Microsoft WSUS http://secunia.com/blog/71/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: IBM DB2 Two Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38294 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38294/ DESCRIPTION: Two vulnerabilities have been reported in IBM DB2, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service), and by malicious users to potentially compromise a vulnerable system. 1) A boundary error when processing SQL SELECT commands can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. 2) An unspecified error in the "kuddb2" process can be exploited to cause a crash via a specially crafted packet sent to port 6014. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 9.7.1. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict network access to trusted users only.
