The vulnerability is caused due to an error when negotiating T.38 over SIP and can be exploited to cause Asterisk to crash by sending a specially crafted SDP packet containing a "FaxMaxDatagram" field with a negative or overly-large value, or a SDP packet without a "FaxMaxDatagram" field.
