---------------------------------------------------------------------- Secunia integrated with Microsoft WSUS http://secunia.com/blog/71/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Interspire Knowledge Manager Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38465 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38465/ DESCRIPTION: Cory Marsh has reported some vulnerabilities in Interspire Knowledgebase Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions, disclose sensitive information, conduct cross-site scripting attacks, conduct SQL injection attacks, and compromise a vulnerable system. 1) The application does not restrict access to the admin/de/dialog/media_manager.php script. This can be exploited to disclose the full application path in the HTML source code via the "roots["dRoot"]" parameter. 2) Input passed to the "sp" parameter in admin/de/colormenu.php is not properly sanitised before being displayed to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. 3) Certain unspecified input is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. 4) The admin/de/dialog/callback.snipshot.php script improperly trusts variables passed via the GET method and overwrites $_SESSION variables. This can be exploited to create files with PHP extensions and execute arbitrary PHP code. 5) Input passed via the "v" parameter to admin/remote.php script is not properly verified before being saved to a PHP file. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code. 6) Input passed via the "p" parameter to admin/de/dialog/file_manager.php (when "w" is set to "1") is not properly verified before being used to download files. This can be exploited to download arbitrary files from the admin/de/dialog/ directory. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 5.1.3. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 5.1.4.
