---------------------------------------------------------------------- Secunia integrated with Microsoft WSUS http://secunia.com/blog/71/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: osTicket SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38515 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38515/ DESCRIPTION: Some vulnerabilities have been reported in osTicket, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct SQL injection attacks and by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks. 1) Input passed via the "input" parameter to ajax.php (when "api" is set to "tickets" and "f" is set to "searchbyemail") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires "Staff" permissions. 2) Input passed via the "f" parameter to ajax.php (when "api" is set to "tickets" or "kbase") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 1.6.0. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.6.0.
