---------------------------------------------------------------------- Secunia integrated with Microsoft WSUS http://secunia.com/blog/71/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: ASPCode CMS Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA38596 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/38596/ DESCRIPTION: Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in ASPCode CMS, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and request forgery, script insertion, and SQL injection attacks. 1) Input passed via arbitrary parameters to default.asp (when "sec" is set) is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. 2) Input passed via the "email" parameter to default.asp (when "sec" is set to "33" and "ma1" is set to "forgotpass") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. 3) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. add or delete users if a logged-in administrator visits a specially crafted web site. 4) Input passed via the "name", "email", "website", and "message" parameters to default.asp (when "sec" is set to "23", "ma1" is set to "message", and "a2" is set to "form") is not properly sanitised before being displayed to the user. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious message is viewed. 5) Input passed via the "newsid" parameter to default.asp (when "sec" is set to "26" and "ma1" is set to "news") is not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.0.0 - Build 103. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. Do not browse untrusted websites or follow untrusted links while logged in to the application.
