The weakness is caused due to an unspecified error in the on-demand scanning functionality, which can potentially be exploited to bypass the scan via another entity that denies read access to Symantec AntiVirus or Symantec Enterprise Protection. Successful exploitation requires that Tamper Protection is disabled and an attacker is able to pass certain events to the application.
