DESCRIPTION:
AbdulAziz Hariri and Mohammad Abou Hayt have discovered a
vulnerability in Symantec Altiris Deployment Solution, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to a use-after-free error in
dbmanager.exe when handling error conditions. This can be exploited
to dereference invalid memory and cause a crash via specially crafted
"CreateSession" and "PXEManagerSignOn" requests sent to TCP port 505. 
 

The vulnerability is confirmed in Altiris Deployment Solution version
6.9 SP3 build 430. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict network access to trusted users only.
