The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing certain ASF version 2.0 RAKP Message 1 packets, which can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending a specially crafted packet. Successful exploitation requires that Remote Management and Control Protocol (RMCP) over the RMCP Security-Extensions Protocol (RSP) manageability is enabled (generally disabled by default). The vulnerability is reported in the following devices and firmware versions: * BCM5751, BCM5752, BCM5753, BCM5754, BCM5755, BCM5756, BCM5764, and BCM5787 firmware version 8.04 * BCM57760 firmware version 8.07 * BCM5761 firmware version 1.24.0.9 SOLUTION: Reportedly, Broadcom NetXtreme 14.0 software released to OEMs contains a corrected firmware version. Disable the management firmware or Secure ASF (RSP) support.
