The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "ALStatus::SetError()" function in OlArchive.dll when constructing error messages. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by tricking a user into e.g. unpacking a ZIP archive containing an entry with an overly long path. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.10.1.138. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not attempt to unpack untrusted archives. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: TecR0c Additional details provided by Secunia Research.
