---------------------------------------------------------------------- Secunia CSI + Microsoft SCCM ----------------------- = Extensive Patch Management http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/corporate/wsus_sccm_3rd_third_party_patching/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: phpThumb() "fltr[]" Command Injection Vulnerability SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA39556 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/39556/ DESCRIPTION: A vulnerability has been discovered in phpThumb(), which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system. Input passed via the "fltr[]" parameter to phpThumb.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a command line argument. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands via specially crafted requests. Successful exploitation requires that "ImageMagick" is installed. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.7.9. Other versions may also be affected. NOTE: This vulnerability can be exploited with "high_security_enabled" set to "true" by brute forcing the "high_security_password". SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Discovered in the wild, reported by an anonymous person. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help private users keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
