X-Motor Racing Server Multiple Vulnerabilities

DESCRIPTION:
Luigi Auriemma has discovered some vulnerabilities in X-Motor Racing,
which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service) or compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A boundary error in the server implementation can be exploited to
cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted
IP_CAR_INFO packet.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

2) Two errors when processing received packets can be exploited to
trigger an out-of-memory exception and terminate an affected server.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in demo version 1.26. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Host games in trusted networks only.
