The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the IRC protocol support, which can be exploited to cause buffer overflows by e.g. sending specially crafted IRC messages. Successful exploitation requires that a user is tricked into connecting to a malicious IRC server. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 2.1.1. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 2.3.
