The vulnerability is caused due to an error in processing.php as it allows uploads of files with multiple extensions to a folder inside the web root. This can be exploited to e.g. execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a specially crafted PHP script that contains the GIF magic number. Successful exploitation requires a certain server configuration (e.g. an Apache server with the "mod_mime" module installed). The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.09. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict access to the "img/" directory (e.g. via .htaccess) PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Mr.Benladen OTHER REFERENCES: Further details available in Customer Area: http://secunia.com/products/corporate/EVM/ DEEP LINKS: Further details available in Customer Area: http://secunia.com/products/corporate/EVM/ EXTENDED DESCRIPTION: Further details available in Customer Area: http://secunia.com/products/corporate/EVM/ EXTENDED SOLUTION: Further details available in Customer Area: http://secunia.com/products/corporate/EVM/ EXPLOIT: Further details available in Customer Area: http://secunia.com/products/corporate/EVM/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help private users keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
