The vulnerability exists due to improper filtering when IPv6 Unicast Reverse Path Forwarding (RPF) is enabled and can be exploited to bypass filtering via a spoofed IP address. Successful exploitation requires IPv6 Unicast RPF to be configured in strict mode.
