The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when processing FTP server responses and can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow via an overly long, specially crafted LIST response. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user connects to and e.g. "Previews" a specially crafted FTP server. The vulnerability is confirmed in FTP Synchronizer Professional version 4.0.73.274. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not connect to untrusted FTP servers.
