This fixes some weaknesses and a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious people with physical access to compromise a vulnerable system and by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service). 1) A boundary error when handling string descriptors during new device probes in the "auerswald_probe()" function (drivers/usb/misc/auerswald.c) can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by inserting a malicious USB device. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow the execution of arbitrary code. 2) An error within the "sctp_make_init()" and "sctp_make_init_ack()" functions when calculating the INIT/INIT-ACK chunk length can be exploited to cause a kernel oops by sending specially crafted SCTP packets. Successful exploitation of this weakness requires that "net.sctp.addip_enable" is enabled. SOLUTION: Apply updated packages.
