The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "cbtls_verify()" function when validating client certificates. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted "not after" timestamp field of a certificate. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but requires a configuration using TLS-based EAP methods (e.g. EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, and PEAP). The vulnerability is reported in versions 2.1.10 through 2.1.12. SOLUTION: Update to version 2.2.0. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Timo Warns, PRESENSE Technologies GmbH.
