The Silence Box

   I'm sure this has been made some other time long ago
under a different name but i independantly discovered it.
Its VERY simple to make and even the stupidest of morons can
make one. I discovered this while testing voltages through 
fone lines. Ok the way it works is you connect the green and 
red wires of a fone line together therefore making a loop, this
loop has a nice little effect, it mutes out the line :)
Also no calls can come in and there is no audible dial tone
though i havent experimented much with dialing during this
time. I have found that there are two nice applications, i 
make this box with a small project box, a SPDT switch
(single pole, double throw), and alligator clips depending
on which form you are making. Now lets say you dont like 
somebody but dont want to do anything TOO illegal, simply
make this box go out to alligator clips and have the red and
green wires connected to the SPDT switch as follows

anyway if you have clips then clip them on to the
corresponding rings on the box and flip the switch
to the on position and viola, the other form merely
goes out to a jack rather than clips. Have phun :)
