NEW LINE CINEMA PRELIMINARY PRODUCTION INFORMATION MORTAL KOMBAT In New Line Cinema's upcoming action-adventure Mortal Kombat Earth's finest mortal combatants are pitted against evil superhuman foes in the forbidding realm of Outworld. At stake? Nothing less than the fate of the world and all its inhabitants. The film will draw on the strength of the characters and the mystical backstory that have made Mortal Kombat so successful as it follows LIU KANG (Robin Shou), JOHNNY CAGE (Linden Ashby), and SONYA BLADE (Bridgette Wilson) on their journey to defend the future of mankind. If he triumphs again this time, the portals of Earth will be open and the darkness and despair that have blighted Outworld will reign over the Earth for eternity.
