From: Al Aab <af137@freenet.toronto.on.ca> Date: Mon, 21 Oct 1996 05:09:37 -0400 (EDT) ============================ seders newsletter #11 ============================= As the moderator of seders, a mailing list for sed enthusiasts, and as per requests from the seders community, who think sed does not warrant a newsgroup of its own, I hereby propose to create alt.comp.editors.batch for non-interactive text processors, such as: sed, regex, yacc, lex, cut, paste, join, wc, ln, cat, tr and the multitiude of small-audience, but relevant, commercial/sharewre/pd grograms. ( SIMTEL/textutil and SIMTEL/fileutil are full of them. Prime examples are: msub - an extension of sed gsar - general search and replace ) alt.comp.editors.batch Coverage almost excludes such text processors as awk, perl and tex because they enjoy adequate, specialized newsgroups. -+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ http://www.wollery.demon.co.uk it is not zat we do not see the s o l u t i o n it is zat we do not sed theproblem al aab, seders moderator. sed u soon +-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ========================= end of seders newsletter #11 =========================
