============================ seders newsletter #11 =============================

As the moderator of seders, a mailing list for sed enthusiasts, and as per
requests from the seders community, who think sed does not warrant a newsgroup
of its own, I hereby propose to create

                            alt.comp.editors.batch

for non-interactive text processors, such as: sed, regex, yacc, lex, cut, paste,
join, wc, ln, cat, tr and the multitiude of small-audience, but relevant,
commercial/sharewre/pd grograms.

(
 SIMTEL/textutil and SIMTEL/fileutil are full of them. Prime examples are:
   msub - an extension of sed
   gsar - general search and replace
)

                            alt.comp.editors.batch

Coverage almost excludes such text processors as awk, perl and tex because they
enjoy adequate, specialized newsgroups.
