Subject: announcement: new seders Web site

Al,

Please reflect the following to seders. This is not a public
release - I'm not finished, yet!

Thanks,
Casper.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fellow seders,

I'm pleased to announce to seders the imminent launch of a new sed
Web site devoted to sed, featuring scripts & tutorials, seders
newletters and (very soon) links to online Net resources. Future pages
may include a Q&A page for lost sed users, which would reflect
questions to volunteer seders.

This is an internal announcement, so please keep it within the ranks,
so to speak. I'll make an announcement later on comp.editors.

There are no graphics yet, so expect a rather drab appearance. Someone
is working on that for me. If any seder listening to this has an
artistic streak, maybe they'd like to advise/help(?). BTW, I make no
apologies for using frames: I like them, they're useful, and I believe
they'll become part of the HTML standard, so they're worth the effort.

Which brings me on to the main point. This is a call for contributions
and assistance of any sort which seders may provide to help me get this
site underway. I'd be very grateful for scripts, documents (FAQs,
tutorials, spec's, etc), and honest criticism. :-)

You can view the site at http://www.wollery.demon.co.uk. You need
either a frames-capable browser or a text-only browser. Set your HTTP
proxy to www-cache.demon.co.uk, port 8080. Sorry, but otherwise you may
get an out-of-date image of the site (by up to a couple of days).

Oh, and special thanks to Carlos J.Duarte, author of "do-it-with-sed",
for contributing a great deal of the material you will see on the site.
Thanks *very* much, Carlos.

Hope you enjoy it.

Casper Boden-Cummins.
